In December 2021, Michael schemed with his closest friends to go to Elk Island to take “Christmas Pictures”. Melissa was surprised when she turned around and Michael was down on one knee, asking her to marry him. After a few minutes of crying, Melissa said YES!
Mike took Melissa to the Telus World of Science for their first official date, where they learned about animal physiology at the Bodyworlds: Animals Inside Out exhibit. They finished their date by watching Legends of the North Sky in the Zeidler Dome, cuddled up on a bean-bag chair.
